This Toilet Paper Roll Octopus  is a fun easy kids craft idea.   Just get out your paints, a couple of googly eyes and your excess toilet paper rolls and you are ready to begin.

So let’s get started.

How to Make Toilet Paper Roll Octopus

First, let’s get everything ready so you can leave the little ones to get busy and avoid all those interruptions.

Skill Level – Easy

Time Required – 20 minutes

What you will need

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Colored paint
  • Googly Eyes
  • Black Marker
  • Scissors

Step 1

First you need to cut the legs. Decide how big or small you would like to make your body then cut up to that point.

Step 2

Turn the toilet roll around and cut on the opposite side creating two halves. You could use a pencil to mark this spot around the toilet roll so that it is easier for your child to cut.

Now cut each half into four legs.

Step 3

To curl the legs, wrap the legs around a marker and then remove the marker once there is a nice visible curl.

Step 4

Now it’s time to get the paints out. Firstly paint the inside of the body of the Toilet Paper Roll Octopus and then paint the outside.

Let dry before you paint the legs.

Step 5

Once dry turn the Toilet Paper Roll Octopus upside down and paint inside the legs then the outside and let dry. The octopus can be as colorful and decorative as your child’s imagination.

Step 6

To put the finishing touches on your Toilet Paper Roll Octopus you can decorate your legs using a paint brush to add dots on the inside, glue on a couple of googly eyes and don’t forget a big smile for the face.
