How to Make a Toilet Paper Roll Butterfly

First, let’s get everything ready so you can leave your child to get busy and avoid all those interruptions.

What you will need

• Toilet paper roll or colored card and color paper
• Sticky tape or glue
• Googly eyes
• Optional – flower punch, heart punch, circle punch, glitter

Step 1

Select the colours you want to use for your Toilet Roll Butterfly. Cut 1 piece of paper 15cm x 16cm, roll it around your toilet paper roll. Tape the ends together.

The paper has to be cut an extra 3cm at each end so you can tuck it into the toilet roll.

If you’re using colored card for your body cut a piece 15cm x 10cm and overlap the 15cm side and tape together.

Step 2

Cut out your wings and go wild decorating them. Punch out some shapes and glue or get the glitter out and go crazy. When you’re happy with your wings glue them to the back of the body (where the tape is). You may need to hold the wings in place with two pegs until the glue is dry.

Step 3

Now you’re nearly finished as it’s time to decorate the face. Use a couple of googly eyes but if you don’t have any you can always draw them on or cut them out of scrap card. Add the antennae using a couple strips of card and your child is done.
