On a Long Hot Summers Day there is nothing better than cooling down with a popsicle or two, but don’t forget to save your popsicle sticks so you can make this awesome popsicle stick penguin craft idea with your kids after you’ve finished.

You just need 7 popsicle sticks to make this awesome craft and can buy them in packs if you don’t eat enough popsicles.

And since this popsicle stick penguin is so cute you might even want to pop on a flat magnet to turn it into a fridge magnet.

Anyway, let’s get started.

How to Make a Popsicle Stick Penguin Craft

Popsicle Stick PenguinFirst, let’s get everything ready so you can leave the little ones to get busy and avoid all those interruptions.

Skill Level – Easy

Time Required – 15 minutes

What you will need

  • Black popsicle sticks x 7
  • Foam sheets – white and orange
  • Googly eyes
  • Heart punch
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Step 1

First, lay out 6 popsicle sticks then cut the remaining popsicle stick in half and glue to the top and bottom of the 6 popsicle sticks. If you don’t have any black popsicle sticks you can always paint them.

Next, cut out 3 foam hearts for the feet and beak.

Step 2 - Punch out hearts

Then glue 1 heart to the body as a beak and the remaining hearts onto the bottom for the feet.

Step 3 - glue hearts on body

Step 4

Add your googly eyes.

Step 4 - Glue eyes

Step 5

Cut out a belly for your penguin using the white foam and glue to the front of your penguin.
