How to Make a Clothespin Airplane

Clothespin Airplane

This easy to make Clothespin Airplane is an ideal kids craft which only uses three things from your craft box and is fun to play with. You guessed it, a clothespin, popsicle sticks, and glue. Once you have shown your kids how to make them you can leave them to create as many as they like while you take a well-earned break.

So let’s get started.

How to Make a Clothespin Airplane

First, let’s get everything ready so you can leave the little ones to get busy and avoid all those interruptions.

Skill Level – Easy

Time Required – 15 minutes

What you will need

  • 4 x Popsicle sticks
  • Glue
  • Clothespins

Step 1

Glue two popsicle sticks to the top of the clothespin to form the top wings and leave to dry.

Step 2

If you don’t want to wait for the top to dry carefully flip the clothespin over and glue two more popsicles to the clothespin, to form the bottom wings.

Step 3

Now let the airplane dry and there you have it,  a clothespin plane your child can play with for hours.

Other Ideas

  • When the kids have finished playing with the plane you can glue a magnet on the back and use it for a note holder on the fridge.
  • Alternatively, make a few with different colors and turn them into a simple hanging mobile.

As you can see this is a really easy kids craft project and it doesn’t take much effort to turn a few simple household items into something that really playable. And when you’re finished with the Clothespin Airplanes you can always re-use the pegs.
