This cheeky tissue paper chick looks great when finished and is perfect for idle hands. The scrunching and gluing of tissue paper will keep your kids busy and will give you time to pop on the kettle while you wait until they are ready for the next step.
But once the body is complete you can get busy adding the body parts for your cheeky chick.
This tissue paper craft is perfect for Easter or any time you need to keep your kids busy, and the same technique can be applied to a number of other animal craft ideas.
Anyway, let’s get started.
How to Make a Cheeky Tissue Paper Chick
First, let’s get everything ready so you can leave the little ones to get busy and avoid all those interruptions.
Skill Level – Easy
Time Required – 30minutes
What you will need
- Yellow tissue paper
- Construction card – white and orange
- Pipe cleaners / Chenille sticks
- Feathers
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Sticky tape
Step 1
First, use your construction card to cut out the body shape for your cheeky chick.
Step 2
Next, is the fun part as you scrunch up small pieces of tissue paper and glue to the body.
Step 3
When the glue has dried on your tissue paper body turn over and add a couple of feathers for the wings and some at the top of the head. If you don’t have feathers handy you could always make your own by using your scrap construction card.
Step 4
Next, cut your pipe cleaner in half and then cut approx 1 1/2in off the end of each pipe cleaner. Twist the small piece of pipe cleaner around the bottom of the large piece to form the foot and attach to the bottom of the body.
Step 5
Then glue on your googly eyes and using a scrap of orange construction card cut out the beak. Glue on the face and you are done making your cheeky tissue paper chick.
